What is Anxiety?
These symptoms we recognize when we are faced with life threatening situations. That response is what has us run away from a danger such as a fire or be able to react quickly when our child runs into the street. There are many times when these responses are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing to keep us safe.
When these same physical symptoms arise when we are not in danger it can be frightening and very upsetting. Perhaps you find your heart is beating rapidly or your breathing is shallow or your stomach is upset causing you to run to the bathroom. It can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling fearful, exhausted and perhaps feeling like something is wrong with you.
