Concentrates on finding solutions in the present time and exploring your hopes for the future, and what steps we will take to realize them. This method takes the approach that you know what you need to do to improve your own life and as a therapist, my role is to support, offer appropriate coaching and questions for you to achieve your goals.
Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT):
Is a combination of Mindfulness practices and the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Our thoughts, beliefs and behaviours can cause us to be very reactive. Keeping us feeling 'stuck' and unsure how to move forward. With mindfulness techniques we can discover the patterns in our brains that are on 'autopilot' and using CBT methods to re-train those patterns to achieve different responses that are derived from choice. This results in the creation of new perspectives, understandings, and conscious awareness that we always have choice, no matter the circumstances that we are faced with.
It is an empowering approach that leads to greater happiness, peace, joy, and emotional freedom.
Means that counselling is all about you. What is happening in your life, how it is affecting you, and allows you to tap into your inner wisdom to discover your best solutions.
